Alessandro Luzzi bei Mödinger - Italian Lakes
Alessandro grew up in Switzerland and Italy but travelled so much from a very young age that ‘home’ has been several different places. He has studied philosophy and history, earned a master’s degree in creative writing and worked in publishing and journalism but feels that leading tours is what he was meant to do. As a guide for the Italian Lakes, Alessandro gets to share the intricacies of history, food, language and life in Italy with groups of travelers, an experience he finds deeply rewarding.

Renate Tielman - Lake Garda
Renate has been working exclusively with The Travel Department for over six years. Before becoming a Travel Department tour guide for the Lake Garda region, she worked with local and international travel agencies. She lives in the small town of Arco in the Trento province with her family. During her free time, Renate loves to spend time with her family, read and practice meditation.

Amedeo Tarquini - Italy
Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Amedeo has also lived in the UK, France, Spain and Lybia. He has been working as an Italian tour guide with The Travel Department for years and loves sharing his knowledge of - and passion for - his home country with his customers. In his spare time, Amedeo enjoys art, archeology, sports, music, painting and cooking.

Brigitte Lozano - France
Born in Saint Tropez, Brigitte now lives in Nice, on the French Rivera. After High School, she spent seven years studying and working in the United States, returning to France in 1982 to obtain her diploma from the local hotel school. Since then, she has been working in a travel agency and as a tour leader, guiding people from all over the world around France. Brigitte likes to paint in her spare time and dreams that when she retires, she will spend her days painting in a garden in Provence. |

Santiago Pla - Spain
Santiago was born in Barcelona, Spain. He has studied tourism and art history and has been a licensed city guide for Barcelona and Catalonia since 1988. He speaks many languages, including Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian and Portuguese.

Teresa Torres - Lisbon & the Estoril Coast
Teresa loves her job as a tour guide for Portugal, showing customers the beauty of her country. She has been with The Travel Department for many years, leading groups around Lisbon and the Estoril Coast. She enjoys traveling with her family every year to new and exciting destinations, where she finds it hard not to bring in her tour guide passion and expertise when visiting monuments and other historical sites. |

Laszlo Poliakovits - Hungary
Our guide for Hungary, Laszlo, has been working in the travel industry for over thirty years. In 1974, he obtained a PHD from the University of Economics in Budapest, where he has lived all of his life. His passion for traveling has taken him all over the world and he speaks English, German and Russian. When not working, Laszlo enjoys music, literature and cooking. |

Our tour guide for the Costa Brava, Manel, has worked in the travel industry for over twenty years. He studied tourism in Girona University (Spain) from 1985 to 1988, before relocating to Los Angeles to attain a Masters degree in Business English from UCLA. Manel speaks Catalan, Spanish, French, English and German. |

Murat Cicekli - Turkey
Murat studied international relations at the Istanbul University of Economics from 1986 to 1991, before completing a professional tour guiding course at the Turkish Ministry of Tourism and Culture. He has been working as a professional tour guide in Turkey since 1996, a position he thoroughly enjoys as it allows him to meet people from all over the world. Murat speaks Turkish and English and enjoys chess, horse riding and pinball. |

Joe Zhou - China
Joe has been involved in travel business since 1982 after he obtained a bachelor degree in English Literature in Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages. He has worked with the Travel Department since 2004, leading guided tours of China and Hong Kong. In his spare time, Joe looks after wild animals and plays golf. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe and America. His favorite travel destination is Los Angeles. |

Emad 'Dodi' Fathy - Egypt
Fram a young age, Dodi was attracted to the history of Ancient Egypt, especially the Pharaonic period. Born in Cairo, he received his tour guide licence from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism. It was a dream come true for Dodi to share his passion and knowledge of Ancient Egypt with people from all over the world. Fluent in English and Spanish, as well as his native Arabic, he has been leading tours around Egypt for The Travel Department since 2007. When not working, Dodi enjoys traveling and will not stop until he has seen the whole world. |

Beverley Bowden - Majorca
Beverley was born and grew up in London but moved to Spain as a teenager to attend university and has lived here ever since! She has worked extensively in tourism in Majorca but has found her real passion in tour guiding and really enjoys sharing her inside knowledge of the island with its visitors. On the rare occasions when Bev is not working she likes to travel, cook and entertain her friends. |
